Projects

Projects come in a variety of sizes, shapes, and types.
And, typically we serve clients developing facilities with
one of the following general end uses: Commercial and
Industrial; Institutional; Residential; Municipal; and/or
Recreational. About half of our work includes a
combination of Civil Engineering and Surveying.
However, we do provide Land Surveying and
Topographic Survey/Mapping as a separate service
as needed.

Commercial and Industrial Projects

HSBC Bank, Chili Center: A vacant corner of this older plaza was rejuvenated to include a new home for an existing tenant. The pad site surveyed and engineered by Avery provides for a much more visible and functional site, and includes a multi-bay drive through at the rear of the building. The project included traffic analysis and site design.

Arrowmart Convenience Store, West Chili: Like many older filling stations, which have been converted to convenience stores, traffic circulation at a busy intersection can be tricky. The Arrowmart Corporation brought Avery into the renovation process to provide survey and engineering needed to fit a modern canopy with multiple pumps onto a tight site, and separate the gas customer traffic from the other plaza patron traffic. The end result was a popular store suitable for acceptance as a Mobil gas franchise location.

Fidele’s Bakery, Ice Cream, and Coffee Bar, Chili: Making the step from a small “mom & pop” bakery into a multi service bakery-deli-coffee bar-ice cream is somewhat of a risk. However, the client and property developer/owner reduced their risk by hiring Avery to work with the town to design a plan to reuse an underutilized out parcel in an older plaza. The result is a real community amenity located across from a town park, which is now connected to the plaza with a crosswalk and sidewalk system planned into Avery’s site engineering. Highlights of the site also include outdoor dining next to a highly landscaped stormwater facility.

C&M Forwarding, Chili: Avery has many repeat and referral clients because we put the effort into making sure that our designs are trouble free for the end users. C&M Forwarding, a successful warehousing client, expressed appreciation that trucking facilities designed by Avery are working fine and that there are no apparent problems with any site issues such as drainage or maintenance.

Ogden Industrial Isle, Ogden: During the past 20 years, Avery has been involved with a number of site projects in the Ogden Industrial Isle, including expansion of the industrial park and extension of Turner Drive. Klein Metals (at right) is expanding and has hired Avery to perform the necessary surveying and site engineering. Other clients in the park include Monroe County BOCES 2 and Reddy Construction.

Byrne Dairy Distribution Center, North Chili: Efficient truck maneuvering is critical for businesses like Byrne Dairy where loading and unloading of perishable products needs to take place quickly. In addition to the design of a raised bed septic system, water service, and truck storage, Avery engineers worked with the client to layout the truck load/unload station and distribution platform.
