Projects

Projects come in a variety of sizes, shapes, and types.
And, typically we serve clients developing facilities with
one of the following general end uses: Commercial and
Industrial; Institutional; Residential; Municipal; and/or
Recreational. About half of our work includes a
combination of Civil Engineering and Surveying.
However, we do provide Land Surveying and
Topographic Survey/Mapping as a separate service
as needed.

Institutional Projects

The Landing, Senior Housing, Brockport: Adjacent to Lakeside Hospital and surrounded by woods, The Landing, an 84-bed senior housing facility (right), offers seniors the beauty of country living with the security of 24-hour acute care next door. Avery provided full site services, including surveying, engineering, SEQRA processing, and municipal approval services. Grassy swales between parking aisles are just one stormwater mitigation measure incorporated into the design.

Nowak Professional Building, Brockport: Professional counseling and several medical services are now housed in the new 6,000+ square feet office building (right) sited between The Landing and Lakeside Hospital. Access is provided through a tree-lined common driveway with The Landing. Surveying and site engineering were provided by Avery.

Dormitory Authority of NY Instrument Surveys: The Dormitory Authority frequently facilitates purchase and rehabilitation of existing homes for use as group homes. In Monroe County, Avery is frequently one of the first consultants called into service, providing appropriation maps needed to convey the property into public ownership. Recently we have performed and mapped 12 surveys in Monroe County.

Roberts Wesleyan College; Pearce Memorial Expansion: A complete topographic survey and site engineering were performed for the church and design team as they expanded the exiting structure on many fronts, adding new entrances, gather spaces, and other support areas. The Avery-engineered drop off area (right) meets ADA requirements and is nicely landscaped to provide an inviting entrance to the worship center. Traffic and pedestrian circulation on the site was a significant portion of the design services.

Lifetime Assistance, Inc., Training Facility: This one of a kind design (right) placed the facility within a landscaped berm to provide geothermal benefits for over 61,350 square feet of classrooms, offices and support space. Avery provided all site services, including grading and preservation of a wooded area, which was used as a visual screen for the dozens of mini-buses and other training vehicles. Employees now also use the shady area for summertime picnics and recreation.

Churchville-Chili Central School Campus Improvements: At 200-acres, the task of providing full topographic survey and mapping for campus planning required Avery’s efficient ground survey and mapping expertise. Subsequently, the mapping has been used for multiple building expansions, athletic field design (track at right), parking lot additions, a bus facility, and a host of other pedestrian improvements.
